 Confined Niger President Seen By His PCP

Niger President Mohamed Bazoum who has been confined since being removed by individuals from his gatekeeper last month was seen by his PCP Saturday, his company said, in the midst of mounting concern

The president "had a visit by his PCP today", an individual from his company told AFP, adding the doctor had likewise brought nourishment for Bazoum, his significant other and child who are being held with him.


"He's fine, given the circumstance," the source added.

Fears have been mounting over the wellbeing and detainment states of justly chosen Bazoum, his significant other and 20-year-old child since the military held onto power and kidnapped them on July 26.

Common liberties Watch said it had addressed Bazoum recently. The 63-year-old portrayed the treatment of himself, his better half and child as "brutal and horrible", HRW said.


CNN revealed last week that Bazoum was being kept disengaged and compelled to eat dry rice and pasta by the individuals who ousted.
